Metal Signs
Here in the Arizona desert, Metal Signs offer a longer lifespan than plastic materials. We offer solid metal and composite panels.
For solid metal we use two standard thickness of aluminum, .040″ and .080″.
The .040″ is about the thickness of a dime. This thickness is suitable for all standard small signs like parking signs, realty riders and realty for sale signs and up to 4ft x 4ft in many applications.
The .080″ is twice as thick and is extremely durable even in its largest size of 4ft x 8ft. This thicker material is sometimes preferred even for smaller signs where foot traffic has been known to bang on or bend the thinner aluminum.
Composite panels are lighter than wood, offers more rigidity than our thinner .040″ aluminum and cost less than the .080″ aluminum. This is a sheet of plastic sandwiched between two layers of thin aluminum. Composite panels are 1/8″ thick and are available in standard metal sizes up to 4ft x8ft.

Plastic and other materials
Plastic signs encompass several different types.
Coroplast (corrugated plastic) which is most commonly used for yard signs/bandit signs and A-frame inserts. For temporary rigid signs coroplast is the most cost effective and weather proof. Standard sizes are 18×24 for yard signs, 22×28 and 24×36 for standard A-frame inserts. This material comes in 4ft x8ft sheets, custom sizes are available.
Acrylic and Polycarbonate(lexan- virtually indestructible) are most often used in monument signs or canister signs above storefronts. These signs are custom fabricated/sized per project.
We also offer Wooden Signs! We use a couple types of composite(layered) wood panels. These are supplied in 4ft x 8ft sheets with custom smaller sizes available. This material is durable yet heavy and approximately 1/2″ thick.
Reflective and Job Site Signs
Many times a reflective sign is needed or required by law. A reflective sign does not “glow in the dark” but relies on light shining on it and reflecting this light. Most street signs are fabricated with reflective signs. Reflective signs are usually .080″ thick aluminum and are more costly than non reflective signs.
Standard sizes are 12×18″, 18×24″ and anything outside of that is custom.
Job site signs can usually be made of one of several ridged sign materials. Zoning hearing signs are usually standard 4ft x 4 ft and will be further regulated by each cities’ ordinances.
